CAUTION TO THE WIND | Wood, steel, burlap, cement | 2017

In Collaboration with Michael Fadel

The evil eye, an iconic protector against malicious intent, has existed for thousands of years in many cultures, including ancient Mesopotamia, Greece, South Asia, as well as African and Central American societies. In this piece, seven wind vanes arranged in a crescent are each counterbalanced by a dense mass of concrete evil eye medallions.  They convey ideas of superstition, diaspora, balance, and finding solace in cultural foundations.
